I saw this on their site and was wondering if it would be worth it to get this TEC and pair it up with a good WC loop...
Would I be wasting money on it? http://www.swiftech.com/products/mcw6500-T1.asp Either this TEC and a good WC loop, or just the good WC loop... ![]()

What do you plan to use for a CPU? The largest TEC that can fit without modding is a 320w unit. Running it at 80%, you can cool a Core 2 Duo fine. However, you will need a dedicated PSU for the TEC.

320w TEC won't be able to cool a heavily overclocked Q6600 effectively.

Yep, just as duckie said. With a upgrade to the 320w, you can cool a dual core just fine. But with quads you'd need to go in the 400w peltier range, which would be too large for the waterblock and you wouldn't be able to insulate properly or supply ample pressure for it to be effective.

before you go down this road you'll have to cool the TEC with a Very powerful watercooling loop.
and i just posted a a topic about someone cooling a Q6700 with a 345 watt TEC to -10 that was standard clock speed though. and cooled by 2 GTX 120.3 radiators !
