Default Nooblet to peltiers

Hey guys. This is my very first trip even into this section of OCN.

The reason why, I just recieved 3x 80w (I do believe) peltiers from somebody here on OCN. I've read up a bit, and understand that they're some sort of extreme cooling. My questions though....
  • Can they be ran on air cooling....such as my sig rig?
  • Will they benefit me any?
  • I'm assuming they can run on 12v fine...so my PSU should be fine, right?
  • How would I mount one?

I think that pretty well covers most of my questions. If somebody could let me know if these would help on air cooling, that'd be cool. If not...well be prepared to see an appraisal thread, lol.

1 no
2 it depends on how they're implemented and the heat load it's trying to cool . you really need more Qmax than 240 these days
3 it depends on the TEC . they could be 48 volt tecs or 1.5 volt .. they'll probably be 16 volt ones so providing you've go enough wattage they should work.
4 you have to mount all 3 one wouldn't be able to cool your pc.
this is a quad 80 watt TEC block
YOU HAVE TO SQUEEZE A TEC BETWEEN TWO PLATES FOR IT TO WORK
