Well I'm trying out an old P4-630 on the board, and its not going past 4.2GHz (280FSB). Its the same speed I got on air on an old 925xe board.

Its definitely not the NB, since that's strapped to 333MHz and even overvolted to 1.35V just in case.

Edit: Even after attemped suicide just increasing the voltages like crazy, it still won't boot it at 300FSB.

Have you tried it on another multi yet? I'm guessing you have, but if you lower your multi on down to 6-7 whatever and it wont boot at 300 with those you'll pretty well know then...

Have you tried to boot in at something over 300 to, like a 310 or 320, whatever and see if it will boot at that?

Yeah I've tried a lower multi....but I completely forgot about the possibility of an FSB hole. I'll try that right now.

Though that still wouldn't apply with the QX - since even dropping the FSB and raising the multi didn't help.

I did notice one thing just now though - a terrible vdroop. It went from 1.336 to 1.30V under load, and kept fluctuating back and forth.

Edit: Err, wait - I almost forgot. There's no option to change the multi with the P4 for some reason. So I can't try that.

Yeah bump up your v-core a little and see if that helps, I wouldn't think 3/10v would hurt you that much though really...

Have you tried to loosen your ram up a lot to rule that out, usually if you ram causes you to fail you'll have to clear CMOS, if its CPU or mobo you wont have to..But its tricked me a few times to..

The ram is rated for 1600, but I've been keeping it at around 1200 with loose timings (9-9-9-24). So that's not it.

And I just figured 0.03V is a pretty big droop for a >$300 motherboard

Anyway, now I've gotta get it to boot with the QX again..../sigh

I know how you feel, my AM2 build I had to RMA that Asus mobo twice before I got a good one, I'm still mad at Asus.....I think the Duke had 2 AM2 Asus crap out in a row, and CD has had to RMA one twice...It can get more then frustrating..But what can you do, there really kind of expensive to hammer on with a hammer or use for target practice, as much as I know you would like to...You'll get it going Bud, sux I know..

Just rule out what you can and RMA if you have to...Do you have a spare PSU to try on it, they can do strange things to...
