Could you flip the MCR220 over on its side up against the case side so that the barbs are facing towards the motherboard and use some 90 degree fittings for the tubing?

So even though the two giant rads are there taking the TEC's heat away before reaching the res, its not enough huh?

And what do you mean t-line them, you mean instead of a res? That's what I was planning on doing anyway - the problem is the rad. Its blocking off the USB and front panel ports at the bottom of the MB, so I can't put it there. I was thinking of sharing the res with the CPU loop so that the water can just get cooled through the two 480 rads instead

So you mean like, mount it on the inside of that side panel that the 480s are mounted? Tried it, there's absolutely no way to get it screwed on

I also tried switching it with the fans (with it under the case and the fans where it is now), but then there's no way to route the tubing.

I forgot your going to run with 2-480's, it should be cool enough to stick them in that circuit then, just try it and see, the worst that will happen is you would still have to find a spot for the little Swifty, which is where your at now....Do it, do it...

Ok

I'll be getting it ready tonight and tomorrow, and Monday when the block comes in I'll just put pics up all at once.

Day 6: Foxconn Blackops - Test Setup

Well now that I actually removed the CPU out of the WS Evolution and went to clean it, I found out what was wrong with it - a broken pin in the socket!!

So I looked up the pinout array on Intel's datasheet, and it turns out that the pin that broke is a Vss (ground) pin - thank god. In case you ever need to fix a socket yourself, pray that the pin that breaks is a Vcc or Vss pin, because then you can simply connect the CPU's connector to any other Vcc/Vss pin in the socket. The worst that will happen is that you might need a bit extra voltage to get it stable.

I don't know if you can see it in this pic..

But you definitely can in this one. One of the pins is silver - I replaced the missing pin with a tip from a safety pin. And it works fine now

Now back to the build...

I got a new top for the res so that it now has 3 inlets (top) and 3 outlets (bottom).

Two new 78CFM blue LED fans for the HDD cages.

Waterblock installed on the RAID card using AS adhesive.

Swifty block installed

Even though it's not a TEC block, it deserves a money shot too

Most of the tubing in place. All that's left is the RADs...

And now I'm taking a break, I'll finish the water loop tonight and test it and post pics up tomorrow.

Looking good....Glad it was a easy fix for your socket, hope it will OC well now..

Thats the first raid card I've ever seen WC'ed, thats kind of cool..

Thanks for all the pic's, glad its starting to turn around for you now!! It can be a pain at times....

Got my Cell Shock in today, seems to be doing OK, I've been desk-top Mem Testing it with no errors so far at 454Mhz @ 4-4-4-12 and 2.1v-dimm..I'll push it a little tomorrow and see how it does.
