What gauge are those wires running to your TEC PSU? I run at the least 14 gauge, sometimes 10 or 12 if I have to run it very far..If your wire is to light it wont be able to pull enough amp's, is the wire getting hot? That would be a sign that they are to light..

Other then that you might want to re-apply TIM on your TEC and block, you want it pretty heavy on the TEC, the pressure will scooge it out to the edges and you can wipe it off there...

He,he,he...At least you finally got to fire it up......You'll get it right with a little tweaking...

Yup, I'm trying a thinner piece of neoprene right now. Currently there's 3 pieces for a total of around 3/4", I'm gonna drop it to 1/2" and see what happens.

They are 18ga, and yeah they get extremely hot, and I was kind of worried about that. But the wires on the TEC itself are 18ga as well....I'll try with just the TEC wires and no extension after seeing what the neoprene does.

The one thing I'm positive on is that there is enough TIM, it got squeezed out of the TEC within the block and its certainly getting squeezed off the CPU.

Well I'm off to try fixing it!

Check it out, new load temps! Looks like this is as low as the CPU sensors will show. Time to buy a temp sensor wire and sneak it in there

It wasthe neoprene, I had made it a bit too thick

The one thing I'm worried about is how hot the pelt's wires get. Even without any extensions on it they get too hot to touch after only a minute.

Edit: DOH the board un-overclocked itself, let me try it again...lol

Hey thats more like it, thats getting there....On your TEC clip off the tail wires about half way and solder or crimp on some rings, then run at least 14 guage wire to it...That will get you down some more, or at least keep you from burning your tails off......If you have plenty of 18 gauge and just want to use that run double wires to each tail, that will work fine to..You need higher gauge wire to pull the amperage, its like running an extension cord to a 3/4 HP table saw, you need the larger gauge for it to pull the proper amperage..

Push it, push it!!! How high of OC'es are those running on plain WC'ing?

Usually on an average WC system these chips get to the low 4.0GHzs (4.0-4.3), so I'm really hoping for 4.8 or so.

Ok I'm gonna try the dual 18ga with stubby tails off the pelt and see what happens.

Yessir' ..for >200W I would recommend at least 14ga..12 or 10 will really be better if this TEC is going to stay on for extended durations. The last thing you need is extra heat build up, due to increasing the amperage load on the PSU and wires..

Lookin nice! Great temps for 3.8ghz.. I can only see those on load, if I keep my side door open in the house.. [drops ambients in meh cpu room to ~60c ] ..and thats at 3.6ghz.

I would think you would be getting lower idle temps than ~25c though..am I crazy?

Yeah a 4.8 would be sick...Good Luck......Hey if it doesn't do anything but keep your tail wires from burning off its a good thing, bet you'll get a little better temp's to though...

You have to remember that the 45nm chips don't measure idle temps correctly.
