I think I'm just gotta take apart the S-Flex's I've got...pretty expensive fans, but at the end of the day at least I won't have to spend more. Not like I'm ever gonna use them again anyway, this thing sounds like an airplane!Quote:

The dual 18ga wires still got extremely hot (but I could at least touch them this time, heh). But the good news is that the temps dropped, and now Core 1 and 2 bounce between 21 and 22 degress, and Core4 stays around 15 . So maybe with the thicker cables it will just stay colder than the sensors can read, period.Quote:
I'm watching your thread closely, it a kickass build! And yup you'll get great temps soon too, just make sure you get thicker wires than I did lol.I'll start installing this in its case tomorrow after I get the other wires and try it out. The 8GB ram got here as well, so that's gonna be fun . After all that's done though, It'll be a long way to 4.8GHz....By the way, is there any way to like....double up on TECs? Or would I just have to try and get a more powerful one? I dunno, it just doesn't seem like the pelt is taxing the WC system its hooked up to, I figure there's room for some more

..But anyway at least you can read your load temp's correctly, thats the main thing...Glad you got it going fairly painlessly and its doing well for you, its just like WC'ing it will settle in over the next few days and burn in and your temp's will drop a little more... EDIT: Doubling up or stacking Pelts is called a TEC cascade and they don't work very well, your temp's are going to drop some more, they should, the best way to drop your temp's now would to be to try some remounts, maybe, or some other optimization of your WC'ing loop..But I'd give it a few days to settle in first then go from there...

what voltage are you running your cpu at at 3.8g and are you running your PSU at 21 volts ? tested with a volt meter when fully loaded ?

I'd back that PSU down as low as it will go and try it there to, your pumping out a whole lot of heat if thats at 26volts, it might cool a little better at the lowest setting, or somewhere in between...Something to play with anyway..
...![]() But more importantly are you over 4Ghz yet? You should easily be able to hit 300 or 400Mhz more with your TEC then on plain water, or more if you have a good chip..

Ok I'll pick up a multimeter at home depot tomorrow when I go to get the wires to get some exact figures.
And nope, I haven't tried going any higher yet, I'll do that tomorrow too ![]() I am getting a slight problem though. When I do a cold boot, the motherboard can't get the CPU to OC'd settings. It restarts itself (turns completely off and back on), gives me an error, and sends me to BIOS - where I just have to hit "save settings" and then boots OCd no problem. And its completely stable with that Linpack test. Would that have anything to do with the TEC?

Ah ok. And my bios doesn't have any temp info, unfortunately ![]() I'm gonna have to pick up one of those sensor wires and LCD displays and stick it on the CPU itself i think.
