Default [Project] Ultimate TEC
Yeah yeah, I know, real original name. But that's not the point. This is still gonna be one kick ass build!

Many thanks to ira-k, who pretty much walked me through every step of the way.


Day 1: TEC and CPU Block
Day 2: MB, PSU, and WC Equipment arrives!
Day 3: Fans arrived, test setup complete!
Day 4: Putting stuff in the case
Day 5: Some new goodies!
Day 6: Foxconn Blackops - Test setup

Day 1: TEC and CPU Block

The first set of equipment that arrived was the TEC, CPU Block, 24V PSU, and some other random pieces of equipment. I put it together, but I didn't use a clamp or anything. What I did is once the cold plate was in place, I tightened the screws a 1/2 turn at a time to keep them even. I think it worked OK, except after I was done I was like "eh, lemme put a bit more pressure on it".....crrrrrrrrrrrackkkkkkk. There's a minor hairline scratch on the pelt's casing, but oh well. Doesn't hurt anything.










I put a tiny bit too much ceramique in there



Just double checking I got the hot/cold side right

Check out the pressure!!! Believe it or not, I actually had to fill this res up all the way to the brim to stop the air bubbles from being sucked into the pumps at the bottom.

Looking good!!! Thanks for all the pic's......You didn't use to much TIM, if you don't get a line of it come out around the edges you probably don't have enough on it..I always put it on heavy with a razor blade, all the pressure you put on it will squeeze out the excess anyway..

That's what the dual pumps and dual RADs are for!

That TEC is going to be giving off 437W of heat, plus whatever the CPU gives off (probably around 150W or so). So that needs a lot of RAD power!

Plus, the thing with TECs, is that if the WC loop stops working the temps will shoot up from 0C to >100C as fast as under 5 seconds. So if one of the pumps goes out, having the second one there is a good failsafe.
