Default Freezone elite. 2c on a quad AMD!

I Just installed my new Phenom II 940 and Freezone elite.
Before I could set everything up the thing was set to full automatically.
Soon after starting windows my temps started to drop from 9c down to 5 then 2!
I thought it must be a mistake so started everest to check the temps.
Sure enough it was running at 2c. I was worried about condensation so shut the PC down.
I have now installed all the software to get the thing running at between 40 and 60% My Idle temps are around 8-10 and load does not go past 22!
This thing is amazing at cooling.
I have seen some negative results for the elite and I can't see how.
I will of course be going for 4ghz if my FSB will take it

Wow, that is awesome. I just sold my Elite to a fellow OCN'er. I wonder how it would do on an i7? I could get sub ambient on my Q9550 though, without waiting too long, so I can attest to how well they work. Congrats again though, that is awesome.

NO S**T? That is awesome! it's the easiest kinda "extreme" sub ambient cooling then... Well. if your below 30c I'm sure you could go for 4,5 ghz at least!

The thing is so cool! The level of control is great. I would say the only downside is the noise when its over 75 80% is just a bit much. Perhaps even more than my XBOX

4,5 the chip might do but I dont think my mobo will make it.
I hope to get a new one soon though. Unfortunately I have ended up with an M4A78T-E which is AM3 only. My friend made a mistake. If you take out the T its the right board!
They should give them easier to identify names

Thanks guys.

Wow...Those are great temps!!! Better than mine actually.
So on full load you have 22C?
My first FZE was a used one,....maybe it wasn't working properly, cuz at full load it hit 52C when having it OCed to 3.9GHz with 1.55V...
I received my 2nd device...Still looking for a place to put it in my CM690....

Did you already try and OC it adn compare the temps?

Not on full settings no.
My motherboard only just supports the chip. The bios keeps re setting.
I can run at 15x 230 OK but messing with the multi seems to upset it.
I may wait to do some proper Ocs when the other Mobo gets here.
When it got to 2c I felt the block and the tecs and they had started to get clammy!
I will need to be careful not to cool it too much. Who would have thought!

I keep telling everybody that the Freezone Elite is great but nobody ever believes me...
It gives at least the equivalent cooling power as a good 240 or cheap 360 rad and you can go sub-ambient.

The FZE is highly dependent on ambient room temperature. How is yours?
Mine is ~30C and it really hurts my temps. That's why I bought a 2nd one from a fellow OCN'er.
I should have gone for a Boreas...

I get condensation really quickly if I go too much below ambient.
I try to keep the coolant at room temp for silence at idle.
Goal: 30C
Max: 31C
Min: 29C

Keep running Prime95 for a few hours to get the real peak temperature.
On an i7 920, I get 45C at full load but it peaks higher after slowly creeping up for 2 hours.

Im not sure what the room temps are. The weather outside is about 12c. I should set up a probe.
I will do some more tests with it when I get my new motherboard and can clock up the chip properly.
Looking like a very good option for extreme cooling.
Much cooler than my water cooling loop I had.

Can you post any photo's of the setup and ss of the temps?
I just replaced the FZE with my new one and the temps are the same, so both units are working properly....
When I just got my first FZE Itested it with my 940BE at stock settings. I couldn't even get the coolant to go below 17C @ idle with the TEC power @100%...

That's why I can hardly believe that your cpu-temp is hitting 2C

Hardly believe or cant believe?
I have double checked the temps with everest and core temp and they all report the same.
I have no reason not to doubt my mother board as before I got the freezone my stock air temps were around 38 idle on the cores and a bit higher on the whole chip.
I only let it go down to 6 as it starts to get clammy and I don't want to break anything just to prove myself.

Anyways.
Here is a shot of my setup and of the screen showing temps and then a capture of the graph.
Im running everest, mtec obviously and utorrent.
I need to sort my cables out I know.
