Default Condensation on peltier

I was looking at getting a peltier and was curious about condensation. Is this ever an issue?

I think that would be overkill for a peltier. I have been looking at the ready made coolers (which I dont plan on buying) and condensation isnt a problem. What I am wanting to do is get a padded peltier and sandwich it between my q6600 and my 9700nt cooler. The dielectric grease is probably a good idea though. What I may do is get a peltier block and run it with a heatsink I have laying around.

You only need to insulate the board if your using a TEC to direct die cool the CPU...and no it's not overkill if you go to the swiftech site and look at their TEC chiller it tells you quite clearly you need to insulate. The majority of TEC's will happily go subambient even at low power and you will get condensation.

Used in a chiller situation it depends on how cold the whole unit gets but there is a good chance of condensation there too....think of your average A/C....Ok maybe not most people have it plumbed in and don't see the resulting fluid. But where anything goes 4-5 or more degrees below ambient condensation will surely follow...depends on the humidity level.

Yes, it will be an issue. A previous roomate tried an Arctic Cooler 64 with a low watt pelt and he got negative temps, but I think something was rusting because he didn't insulate. I'm not sure of the precise details but this is something I will certainly try out myself.

What if surrounding temperature is also minus Celsius ( -15C ) would condensation still occur around the CPU or the heatsink ?!

Condensation will only occur on a surface that has a temperature lower than that of the air. how much lower is determined by the amount of water in the air (relative humidity) which gives you the dew point.

A 9700nt wont be good enough for a TEC and CPU's heat load

any way you look at it you'll need a set of these
