Default CNC 4xTEC Chiller prototype 1

This is a continuation of this chiller thread

I intending on making a TEC chiller that covers all the bases. My “old” chiller was made on a manual mill so it was far from optimal. The New one will be made on Computer controlled mill. This means I can machine far more accurately and machine shapes I couldn’t previously on a manual mill, like curves

I believe my chiller will be the most advanced TEC chiller ever made for PC cooling I’ll try to cover ALL the bases this time. Some key features are listed below

I believe my chiller will be the most advanced TEC chiller ever made for PC cooling I’ll try to cover ALL the bases this time. Some key features are listed below

“U” shape channel design .
  • This keeps the flow rates up
  • But most importantly a U shape enables me to have all the inlets and out lets on the same face for better piping management.

Thick Plastic covers
  • The covers will not only cover the top of the chiller but also cover the sides, to reduce condensation and associated losses. At it’s narrowest it will be 10mm

Cover bolts.
  • The bolts holding the cover to the base will be 100% insulated. This will decrease condensation and associated losses

Pressure applying bolts
  • The bolts applying the pressure to the TEC’s wont be touching the hot or cold plates. This should reduce the conduction losses between the hot and cold plates . The bolts won’t protrude through the Cold side cover, for a cleaner look

Nickle plated copper
  • So the blocks stay shinny for years to come

Optimizes design
  • Both the copper base plate and the plastic cover have been optimised for maximum flow rates. This means I’ll need to make sure it’s connected up right.

Now all of the above I’ve never done before and I don’t know if it’s actually going to work, so don’t be surprised if it doesn’t end up like above. Or it takes me a few goes to get it right. Anyway the journey should be fun

I believe my new chiller will be 5c lower than my current chiller, making it far cooler than any recent direct die builds
