I'll move this over to the TEC forum, some of them use these.

The Boreas is better suited to an overclocked i7 than a Freezone Elite. I had to join 2 of them together to get better temps.

An unmodded Freezone Elite will give you slightly better results than a conventional watercooling loop but it cannot keep the water sub-ambient at full load.

With 2 Freezone Elites (same thing as a Boreas) on my i7 920, I get idle temps of 10C and load temps of 42C with an ambient of 24C. At full load the water is still sub-ambient, something that no rad can do.

Wow I just checked the Boreas costs like $600 CAD

How'd you mod your FZE?

It probably won't fit my case either..the Boreas.. that thing is huge! unless you get that combo with the boreas which is like probably another 200$ lol

Around 500$CAD from NCIX pricematched to DirectCanada and 720$CAD with the 400$CAD case. There are some cheap used ones on eBay sometimes.

I'm using two FZEs as if they were radiators. I use a regular watercooling CPU block and two pumps, they are better than the stock ones anyway. I added some insulation too.

My setup is lying on the floor besides my desk. A Boreas would have made a more compact setup. The combo with the Silverstone TJ07 is a good deal and they put a bigger side window on it. The case alone is worth around 400$CAD at NCIX.

2x FreeZone Elite / Boreas or 1 FZE with a 240rad is the way to go.

Just go to the COOLIT TEC CLUB page in our sigs, there you will c lots of things we tried and our current setups.

I'm happy with my 2 FZE's with a Swiftech MCP350 pump+XSPC-topres. and a Watercool HeatKiller 3.0. Keeps my AMD940BE @3.7GHz with 1.47V Nice and cool. When on full load and the tecs @ 100%, I can keep it at 28.5C...
