Default Ultra Chilltec noob questions...

Hey all,
so...i got an ultra chilltec for fathers day and i was wondering if i could get a little help figuring this thing out...
first off, what is the point of the control module thing. is it supposed to give me my temp reading? because it sure doesn't match my temps in everest. it hasnt gone above 30c.
is there anywhere to adjust settings?
i know you should always give new thermal paste a few days to cure for optimal temps, but so far my freezer 7 pro put this thing to shame. under max load at 4.1 my temps were 58c. with the chilltec and my chip at 3.8 my temps are 76c - 79c...***? please help!!!!!!!

ok...this right here is confusing me...
http://www.legitreviews.com/article/491/2/
"On the front of the cooler is a LCD panel that displays CPU Temp, Fan Speed, Total Up Time, and Session Up Time"
but on the next page it says...
http://www.legitreviews.com/article/491/3/
"The two connectors control the display of the fan speed and information from the temperature sensor. The temperature sensor detects the current operating temperature of the TEC and not the the actually temperature of the CPU"

so is that # on the display the actual cpu temp or not?????

If 30C is really the temperature of the cold side of the TEC, the Chilltec is even worse than I thought.
Wouldn't surprise me... The TEC at 100% is only cooling 50W of heat.

If the hot side of the TEC was at 30C, you would have a cold side at sub-zero temps but I really don't think it is the case as they promise no condensation.

It's basically a "novelty" heatsink that won't give any better performance than a normal one.

Thinking about it some more, it seems to be always a few degrees lower than the CPU, right?
So the reading probably comes from a thermistor inside the base of the cooler, which would explain the discrepancy and seemingly lower temps.

Just like when using an infrared thermometer on the IHS of a CPU, the reading is lower than what softwares are reading from the DTS on the CPU itself.
