So got my boreas all up & running late last night, at 3.8 ghz it did a little better than my water setup, been running at 4 ghz for a while today & looks pretty even with water so far.
Ambient is a bit warm (86F in the house right now), linx cooked a bit too hot (water would at this ambient too though) so I went with some prime 95. Coolant shows 1C under ambient. I'll add to this thread as I try some higher clocks on the stock boreas later & switch out the pump & cpu block. (asked a couple friends about brass & copper reacting, they say those metals play well together).

Hopefully it will be able to hold a higher v-core then WC'ing at least.
Yeah brass and copper are fine together, the main thing you don't want in a WC'ing loop is aluminium, that crap will corrode out your rad and blocks.

This chip has always needed a big boost of V to go over 200 bclk, just cant get stable tonight. Froze getting the screenshot into paint at 4.2 ghz @ 1.28 vcore, hottest core was at 78.
__________________I think water did a bit better at the same settings, ambient was 3 or 4C less & hottest core maxed at 68 But I got it with the intention of modding, I should get to it.

Custom is looking good, temps looking good at 4.2 ghz, ambient at 81F.
A couple pics of the stock boreas setup & with new block & pump/res.

for fellow Europeans who use the superior (*cough*pride*cough* ) metric system, i googled it... 27.2C.that means the boreas is doing a great job of keeping the coolant at a just-above ambient temp... at what percentage do you run the TECs? how low can you go?

I would have to agree it's kinda overpriced for the performance, the stock unit was about equivalent to my koolance block with swiftech triple rad at 4 ghz.
__________________Probably as good as it gets so far for someone looking for a commercial no maintenance sealed unit. My TRUE sure couldn't compete with it at my ambient in here. Changing out the block & pump did help, finally got 4.2 Ghz prime stable, never did pull it off with my water loop (at least not at a reasonable temp). The coolant can get to 4 or 5C under ambient & the tecs aren't always 100%, when loading up an overclock the coolant warms up, but still stays cooler than the fluid in my water loop alone did.
