If you had to stick a tec to a 775 chip what would you choose?

Just curious if like me you had a full 437watt arctic spider system sitting here doing nothing what 75 socket chip would you choose to play around with?

Well if you wanted the most powerful CPU you could get then I'd say the Q9550S (65w). You'd probably be able to achieve a decent overclock with it whilst having a low temperature.

The E8### EO chips, I was running a daily OC of 4600Mhz and would idle at -30C and load at +6-8C or so Primed up. I could run the 8600 up around 5200-5300 for benching.

Its an interesting one allright
__________________Especially as my q6600 has been running at 3.6 for a year now on water - i'd hate to take a step down in performance. What about those 's' quads that run at 65w? I have read they dont clock up as well as their 95w sibblings?

Why dont you just stick it on your q6600 like i did with my 62mm block
The 65 watt quads are way easier to cool than a q6600. But the 2 i had the temps wouldn't read below 22 ish at full load so i sold them cos i didn't see the point in having all this TEC gear if i couldn't tell how cold it was getting. so i stuck with my q6600. I want to run 4g 24/7 which i think will require W/C north/south bridges and VM's . i blew up a board at 4.2G the last time i tried

What's an Arctic Spider setup? (yes I'll be off googling it shortly)
![]() Edit: Found it. Forgot about that TEC block. I use the Swiftec MCW series and have been happy with it, even on my QX9650. Granted I'm modestly only O/C to 3.61 Ghz.
