Default Anyone else using a TE Tech LC-200/TC-48-20?

I'm thinking of adding a fan controller and am wondering if anyone else has done this? The fan on it is set a one speed. So even if my temps are below 10c and the TEC is only putting out 60% load the fan is still at 100%. It would be nice to find a sweet spot with the fan running slower.

Thanks. It will look even better once I get time to clean it up. I've been playing around with different water loops. I think I've found the right configuration, but, I no I can quite the fan down a bit if I ask around.

Wow mahtareika you spent some bucks.....

I think you will have a hard time finding anyone else here with the same units....

For everyone elses interest here it is -

The TEC unit is this one -
http://www.tetech.com/Liquid-Coolers/LC-200.html

The other unit is a commercial TEC temperature controller and is here -
http://www.tetech.com/Temperature-Co.../TC-48-20.html

Like Ultrasonic said please do start a new thread and tell us some more about your expensive toys.....

WOW... (picking myself up off the floor !)

The cost was well below the list price. (I'm a purchaser by trade)

Start a new thread? What should I title it? I can after work today.

Ahhh....that explains it, I think most would be too scared to place that many "readies" on an unknown quantity....I know I would.

As far as adding the fan controller goes I wouldn't see a problem...these are after all commercial units and I wouldn't be surprised if some engineer somewhere decided to do the same.

Well I suppose you could use this thread if you want just thought it would be nicer starting with all the info you have on the units in the first post. Going back and editing your first post now would be a bit naff and possibly confusing. So a new thread would be nicer. Call it what you like so long as its clear.

Wow...that's a very nice TEC cooler I'm using 2x Coolit FZE's, but this 1 cools even better! It's a bit more expensive than a Coolit Boreas, and I believe it will outperform it as well. It's using 6 TECs right?
How about the fan, is it noisy?

It uses six TEC's and one big fan. The LC200 is as noisy as my dual Xeon Server; enough for me to notice and want to decrease. I can decrease the fan speed and it will adjust the load on the TEC's through the TC-48-20 controller. I think I'll get in touch with the engineer/s over at TE Tech to find an appropriate voltage dropping resistor to put between the fan and the controller. There is a drawing of one in the back of the controllers operation manual.
