I have absolutely 0 knowledge and/or understanding of these so called thermo electric coolers and/or peltiers. Anyways, I was looking to find a new HSF for my i7 860 and came across the Ultra ChillTec. What the hell is it and would it work better than your high performance HSF such as the one I've got or a TRUE 120?

People seem to hate Ultra products here, but I have a PSU made buy them and I can attest to its quality. I don't know much about peltiers myself, but I can support the name behind it.

Not good.
Get a thermolab baram or a megahalem, they will perform better.

Yeah, I know those megahalems are good stuff, go with one of those. Or hell, get a watercooling system. For $150, i'll bet I could build you one for your cpu.
Edit: Nvm, you're in canada, don't know about canadian stores.

The Megahalems/Mega Shadow is what I was looking for. Can't seem to find it on any Canadian web sites. I came across that Ultra thing though and had never seen/heard of a CPU cooler like it though so I was wondering. Thanks anyways but I'm not interested in water cooling.

I have one (it is identical to the Vigor Monsoon II) which I've modded and it works well. But stock it's not so good, and I would definitely not use it for an i7 (don't know if they have a mount for i7 or not). If I was buying something air cooled today, it would be a Megahalems with dual Panaflo or San Ace fans, and do some CPU lapping as the icing on the cake. That should give you VERY decent temps and overclocks.
