Default TEC, Case Cooling, HowTo?? 2 heatsinks?

SO i have a 400 watt peltier, and 2 heatsinks for each side, but i would like some advice on how to hook this up to the computer case to cool the case, i would like to know what kind of fan setup i should have, if i should seal things, or if i should leave it as is, currently i have 2 120mm fans in the front, 1 120mm fan in the rear and 2 120mm fans on the cpu, there is also a 80mm fan on the top of the case, i was wondering if replacing the 80mm fan with the tec would be good or what should i do?? its a 50mm tec. Also this is all in a CoolerMaster CMStacker case

Cooling the air entering your PC is worthless. TECs are highly inefficient (at rated wattage) and the cooling results would be negligible. If your wanting results look into direct die cooling

Well i already have the peltier, and i can't do direct die because i only have a air cooled cpu, and i will not do water cooling because i plan on selling this pc in a couple monthes. and also, even if i only get a pc case temp drop of 10 degrees i'd be happy.

Your not going to get a in case temp drop of 10c.

BTW, saw you post on toms.

Uncle Jimbo and his nephew iocedmyself on XS had a measure of sucess cooling the air entering a case using TEC's.
I cannot remember the actual results but they were mildly happy with what happened and vowed to improve it...but I don't know of the outcome on that.

You won't stand much chance of doing it with one 400w TEC...it will be horribly inefficient at the point that it achieves any worthwhile cooling of the case.

To be honest the only chance one has to get worthwhile cooling is to seal the case and cool a set volume of air but of course this brings with quite a few complications and is not a cheap or easy solution and will need more TEC power than you have.

You may well find the TEC difficult to use in a direct die situation as well due to to it's dimensions.

Unless you have a specific use for the TEC and the heatsinks it might be to sell them and put the cash to system update.

EDIT - you've changed your mind...is it 400w or 177w ? If it's 177w it is no good for direct die not strong enough, unless your using an old processor of course.

well it was rated at 400watts when i bought it but i was misinformed and that was the amount of power consumed so it is 177watts, and i have a amd phenom II 955

right well unfortunately your 177w will do diddly squat for 955 at a reasonable operating point don't even bother thinking about direct die. Remember 177w is maximum at full power, 100% heat transfer and dt=0 (i.e. no cooling.). As this is a 15.6v part running it, as I expect you will, at 12v means you wont get any where near 177w cooling.

Consequently it won't be much use for air cooling....air can be cooled very quickly even with low wattage but it also heats up quickly too - direct air cooling isn't that great....you can use coolant in a rad to cool air BUT only in an enclosed sealed space. It will take more power to cool coolant then the air but the coolant will take longer than the air to cool down. BUT as I say it needs a sealed case. and your one TEC won't be up to it.
