Wiring in series will raise the voltage but not the amperage. Parallel wiring will raise the amperage but not the voltage.

I would think theres some kind of cross load protection in the PSU that would kick in using say a 5v and 12v line together.

looks promising. Im going to do this i think to make a chiller for a mineral oil cooled pc. Do I have this right? - If i get a power supply with multiple rails, I can essentially do this mod linking the rails together to get a hybrid system with the amperage provided by a single rail, but the voltage provided by the sum of however many i link up?
