Default Heat pad needed?

Hi,

Just about to mount phase change cooler but i noticed i don't have a heat pad, just pcb spray electrical grease and neoprene.
Do i need that heat pad or will the neoprene on the back of the board be ok?

Thanks

most of the time i just use a layer of neoprene. the heating pad is not needed. its just an extra wall of defence that will warm your cpu up a bit. don't bother with it unless you want. get a good air tight seal and your fine.

I have no heat pad on mine, not needed. I would just recommend some liquid electrical tape and neoprene, does the job well.
