This shows the picture of my mount ,i got my mach 2 gt second hand, i have not attached the neoprene sponge yet as i am thinking of fabricating the mount plate where you bolt it up, its a hard plastic at the moment i was thinking of aluminum is this ok? or will it cause Electrolysis Reactions of Metal causing the bolts to go that green color.

leave it as hard plastic, metal becomes frail at cold temps... and can cause issues, also things stick to metal when its cold, like flesh, tongues etc...

Ok ,
I looked about and found this out about aluminum, Aluminum is indeed brittle at zero temperature, and becomes ductile at a finite temperature due to motion of pre-existing dislocations which relax the stress concentration at the crack tip. Thing that's confusing me is DIBOND is aluminum and they make mounts out of that. Last edited by psyco™ : 02-07-09 at 12:52 PM |

Not only that, but if you made the mount aluminum it would likely condensate.

I have seen that DIBOND is used and Polyethylene i am thinking of using nylon,But i don't think aluminum would do any harm as they use it on areo planes and they fly in below zero temperatures ,Testing will be a good thing here i think the air around it will prevent condensation.
Thanks for the advice

Well i have pushed the neoprene on and the mounts all most ready to go BUT
as you can see by the image i have a cavity and i don't think we wont that, There is a metal clip that is going on the end to stop it pulling out but there will still be space in there i think i will pack it in with Petroleum jelly.

you'll be okay.. just build up some insulation around the cpu and it'll mush into those places.

![]() Its a modified mach 2 gt ,destroyerofnoobs said the mods where condenser and desuperheater ,My main concerns are moisture at the moment so i have been looking in to all possible mount guides on here and over the internet allso how to use the unit correctly. There is one thing concerning me at the moment that's the neoprene around the evap as you can see the unit is on ,I noticed 1 thing before turning it of that the neoprene was very moist about 5cm in, i hope this does not o occur when mounted or i may have the wrong neoprene.
