Default Q6600 and mach 2 gt support?

Been looking around the phase change section of the forum and i am seeing a lot of threads containing information about mach 2 gt not supporting quad cores.
I have a Q6600 and was in the process of installing my mach 2 gt with it in the next week or so,why is it not supported there does not seem to be any real info about the main reason and a lot of people are using them on i7 chips now.
I am not going to keep it overclocked only for testing so i cant see a problem it has R4027a gas in it, all so it goes -80° ,if i only clock and the temps are -10° or what ever for short periods of time surely there wont be much heat produced.

uhh what...... for 1 the mach 2 gt is tuned for 200watts and most quads are at 130 at default giving you very little overclocking room. #2 is r4027a even a gas? btw a mach 2 used r404a. #3 there is no single stage refridgerant that could keep a processor at -80°. as for the rest of the paragraph, ???????

to me its lookign like your puting the cart before your horse. you should always calculate what wattage your cpu is going to put out before you build/buy a unit. runing a q6600 at 3.8ghz @1.4volts is 189watts. people have been known to hit 4ghz on a q6600 on water. sadly you cant go that high with a mach gt because your over your wattage limit.

Just info i have got from old owner and it says -81° on panel after a few minutes so it must be a lie ?
as for gas i think i just got a number wrong it may be r402a or r402b something like that i no the unit has been modified in some ways.
So i take it if mach 2 is tuned at 200watts its completely safe to use with a Q6600 with some careful calculations

Hmm says -80° strange!!!
Maybe a probe in the rear will give me a true reading lol

You would need to get thermometer of somekind, Im not sure of the best ones for negative temps its been a while. This will be the only to prove what temp your running.

My mach II if I remember right help something like -50c unloaded (the display would read -63C). This is stock.

I tried it with my quad on there and it didnt last long before it was in single digits or positive temps when oced. That was a B3 though so it was a little toasty.

by £400 in mods you better mean a solid gold case right? truthfully he/she rely did not need to do much moddifications. shorten the cap tube by a coulpe feet mabye a bigger condensor/fan and put in the same or better gas. i mean for £400 you got the entire unit right? or did you send one in to get modded for £400. if you did im having a good feeling you just either got riped off or scamed. i rely see no reason why there should have to be nearly $600usd of mods done just for a mach 2 gt to handle a quad. if you could provide some pictures of your unit that would be nice, and i would recomend geting a thermometer to test your unit unloaded. just to give you an idea of the temps to expect. aroudn -55 for 402(either a or b) -50 for 404a or 507, or - 35-40 for r290(propane). im here to help, im rather an hvac novice but i can help with what i can.
