Default What would it cost to phase change an i7

Hey guys,

I was thinking about going water cooling for my new build but I wanted to consider phase change also.

Anything I bought would have to be from a builder (I don't have any fabrication skills ectra, even small case mods would be a stretch)

I would want something that can fit under an antec 1200, not be louder than say 40db, and cool an i7 to -15 C or so at a fair overclock.

Weight and power usage are non issues for me.

My budget for the whole thing (including perhaps the custom case work (would a phase builder modify the case for me also?) would be 600-800 USD (the lower the better).

Also it would be important to note that my maintenance skills for the unit would be next to nonexistent.

So...is this doable, is phase for me?

at what overclock? it kinda helps to know the heat load your after. and generaly for $600 a phase unit can be built. expect up to $1200 with a fancy case, temp sensors and fancy stuff like that. personaly it is sounding like your seting your expectatiosn high for litttle. i wouldn't even know who to recomend you to for a builder. with chily1 retired, jinu117 is bacicaly mia, no one rely know's what hapend or where he even is for that mater. nol is probaly still out from a car accident here is the link to his profile if your able to get ahold of him http://www.overclock.net/member.php?u=44024. there is golemer though. http://gomeler.com/ ive heard good things on him. as for me, im more of a buyer then a builder. my idea of a phase unit is a cheap r134a chiller with mostlikely to short of cap tube. i make up for that though with a large desuperheater and a accumulator. so yeah count me out. there is also LittleDevil if you live in Europe http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/member.php?u=12340

i would definitly try to get ahold of Nol if you live in the us. personly he gets taken advantage of alitle if you you ask me. his profit margin off his units is dang near nothing. its nothing but a hobby to him. try to contact him. its prety bad when his budget $600 units are high quality. although i belive he charges an extra $200 for cases because of the price to get them machined. not sure on the exact prices rely, im not Nol. if times wern't so dang tough i would contact him. I've been wanting one of his units for the past 6 mounths just never rely had the money to do so.

Oh and btw if you decide and are able to contact Nol ask him if he is able to do 2 stage cascades for me

This would be very attainable. I would personally talk to Gomeler if I were you, he built my unit and I've been very pleased with him. For 600 he could get you much colder then -15, but it really depends on the type of unit your looking for. nol is another good builder but he has supposedly stopped building.
