Default Safe subzero volts for core i7?

Hi,

I'm beggining my slow but steady climbing to 4.4 Ghz

I'm now running STABLE @ 4.2 Ghz HT ON

I was wondering what are the max 24/7 safe voltages for phase change.

I have my CPU running at 1.49v (CPU-Z reports 1.456v)

I'll report QPI and VTT values latter.

EDIT: Vcore 1.4812
CPU PLL 1.86
QPI PLL: 1.32
IOH Core:1.32
ICH I/O: 1.58
ICH Core 1.3
DRAM 1.64v

Ram Multy is 2:8 (1600Mhz) 7-7-16
21x200=4200Mhz
HT is ON

Thx!

Only you can decide what is safe enough for your CPU. I can tell you Intel puts vC max at 1.5v, vtt max at 1.35. I don't myself, but thats Intels opinion. Under phase is anyones guess

Can you let me know when you raised your IOH core voltages? Each time and BCLK please. I'm looking at that component alone on a single card and trying to pick out some more about it. I see your running 2 280s so there's some more traffic which justifies it being higher than some others. I'm trying to gauge how that scales better.

Also curious about when you needed to bump your CPIpll. It looks like 2 bumps in bios. 1.80>1.83>1.85 or so. Did you jump up to those or bump one up at say 192BCLK and the next up at 201 for example.

*edit*
have some time now...
First of all, best of luck and good goal for 4.4 with HT. I hope your chip can do it. Getting to the 4 mark was pretty easy but it put up a fight afterwards. HT really packs a load on there at the end.
Really curious of your vtt and why you have your vdimm down instead of at 1.66. I assume your board doesn't have 1.65 right on. I believe I was told it doesn't on Giga or Asus boards but could be wrong.
Ram timings are tight too, nice. You can play with loosening those a bit when it gets tougher. I assume its 1.65v ram, and say give it that much at least. As long as you keep your vtt voltage within .5v of your vDimm your ok.
GL getting those extra BCLKs and let us know how she plays under phase. I only have water on mine but who knows, I might get a chiller bug

I only needed to raise IOH Core values once I got close to hitting 4Ghz BCLK 211, I was using 19X multiplier then.

Once I hit 4Ghz I moved to 20X multiplier, oddly, 20X multiplier proved to offer better results only after enabling 20+1X.

So, regarding stability:

1-20+1X multiplier
2-19X multiplier
3-20X multiplier

You are right about the RAM, my mobo only offers 1.64v-1.66v but I've read at newegg that this modules work just fine at 7-7-16 1666Mhz with just 1.6V, so having them to run at 1.64 seemed wise.

i can't remember when I bumped CPIpll values, sorry.

Attempting to pursue 4.3 Ghz at 1.5 volts
