Hey fellas,

I put in a 500gb Seagate drive and it works great. Im very impressed so far. Until...... every once in a while when I turn the system on I get this error message "Correct Hard Disk not found". A simple power off and back on solves it and it doesnt do it again for a while, but a week later it does it again.

I started researching the problem and its happening to a ton of folks after they upgrade their HDD. I have the earlier 60g model and apparently the issue is , the standard HDD is a Sata I drive while the newer bigger ones are Sata II.

The solution: Install a jumber on the drive that reduces it to Sata I speed (thats what I got out of it in laymans terms anyway)

My question is: where can I get one of these and what size/type do I need?

Default shows I'm using almost twice as much disk space after swap

My hard drive swap went easily 80gb to 500gb 5400rpm western digital, except it shows I'm using almost twice as much disk space.

First of all I started by having about 42gb free of 76gb (on 80gb) with a few games, saved media and 2.6 firmware. I backed up data on external drive and swapped the drives for the 500gb. The swap went by jst as easy as reading abot it. The first thing that I saw on my tv when I turned the power button was a prompt for me to insert storage with the 2.6 upgrade. When I did this It formatted the drive with 2.6 firmware. I then used the backup utility to restore my saved data. Now everything works great but I'm showing 390 of 465 free, meaning that I'm already using about 75gb after the swap when prior to the swap I was only using about 34gb. I can only attribute it to installing the 2.6 firmware separate from the restore data and it ma have formatted 2 partitions on the new 500 disk. I think I'll try to reformat the disk from the ps3 and see if can get my my used space closer to 34gb (before the swap) rather than 75gb (after the swap).
