If you strip the screws, pliers are great. Use a blunt nose plier to twist out the blue screw if you strip it (be prepared to scratch the hell out of the metal surrounding the blue screw though). The small screws... if you have a small enough needlenose plier, it might work. I've heard that using the plier sideways can help with the small screws.

If all else fails, call Sony It's what I did. I got the blue screw out but the small screws I couldn't get out b/c I stripped them. Just call them, tell them you lost the HDD cage and the four screws, and they'll send it to you. They didn't charge me anything in my case (not even shipping)

If you strip the screws use a dremmel if you have one and make a sideways slot. then use a regular screwdriver to turn the screw

Hey, peeps, I'm new here! As Transonic says: "Remember, Google is your friend."

I found this forum with Google and Transonic said he/she replaced the 20GB harddrive with a 160GB Western Digital 5.400rpm SATA notebook drive. Now, Is it possible to replace it with a 250GB Western Digital 5.400RPM SATA 150, 8MB Buffer? Here's a link to it (Icelandic site though because I'm Icelandic):

http://www.att.is/product_info.php?c...4f9f44b1f36775

It's for 227,27$ (We are used of the high prices here).

BUT, will the PS3 handle the drive properly?

yes - as long as that is a laptop size hard drive, it'll do fine.

what? swap a hard drive?

simplest thing in the world. I got a nice 250GB in there and an extra 250GB external beside it.
