There is a 500gb samsung out there people have used. Never heard of any performance drops but a slightly faster load time if you get a 7200rpm HDD. F@H is folding at home.... I don't do it, don't know anything about it.

Hi. I need some help! I need to replace my 40GB HDD in my PS3 because its my media center and its in major need of some space. i have to delete something whenever i want to download something.

Would this hard drive work in my PS3?

add it up and you get better value for your dollar using that and a 3.5'' drive over laptop drives

does the size of the HDD matter? does it compromise running speed on the ps3?

I'm not sure if I'd need anything more than 160GB. Thats an awful lot of demo's and PSN games

No is the answer to both questions. You can find 320GB HDD's for under $100 USD now....The more the merrier

The PS3 will format the disk and then the quickest way to get the OS on there is to have it downloaded to a USB thumb drive. The option will present itself.
