with regards to the post above about 5.1 from the ps3. you will need an amp to decode the output of the ps3 (opitcal) which will decode the incoming signal (DTS), then output it to your 5.1 system.
if you just use the red and white phono leads from the multi AV out on the ps3 you will only get stereo sound, which is the front speakers excluding the centre channel i believe.

The PS3 doesnt have an available setting to output all audio through a headset. VOIP audio can go through the headset, but that's about it.

If you try changing the input on your monitor it could work, just depends if that's problem. That is if you are playing your computer through the monitor as well. To change the input there should be a bunch of buttons somewhere on the monitor. Press the menu one and just follow the links. Hope this helps you out Dracula.

naaw its not that i had it set to the correct input thats why im so confused.. could it be because the adapter was meant for a video card? i didnt think it would make a difference but who knows.

Hey thanks for the awesome tutorial. I got everything set up and works great especially since I already had the XFPS module that lets me use my mouse and keyboard to play fps games like COD 4 and WAW. My problem however is the DVI Switch. I bought one on ebay called Level One. Looks similar to yours. But when I hooked everthing up, it gave me blue screens with horrible streaks. Like this:
![]() Then it goes to blank screen. It draws its power from the keyboard hookup so the switcher needs to be connected to the tower through the keyboard wire that's attached with the dvi cable that came with the box. It says it supports up to 1600x1200 @60hz (165mhz) And my resolution is 1680x1050 on a 22" So I don't know if that could be the problem as well. Here are the specs on the box. Features/Specifications: Level One KVM-0406 4-Port DVI KVM Switch for PS/2 General Features: Compact design 4-Port PS/2 DVI Switch Supports Microsoft Intellimouse, Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer, Microsoft Optical Mouse, Logitech Net Mouse, etc...
