I've been searching for cables for awhile now...I'm trying to find a cheap way to hook up my PS3 and PC both with DVI on my monitor with one DVI port without an expensive KVM switch.

I just recently got a ps3. Being excited about trying it out on my NEC Multisync LCD monitor; I went and bought a HDMI to DVI Cable. I plug everything in only to see a black screen. I noticed it detected a signal but still no picture. I Google it only to find out that only monitors with HDCP support will work. It turns out i need to get a new monitor with HDCP Support, a HD TV, or device like Game Switch (If i can find a retailer) or X2VGA 2 High Definition VGA Transcoder.

Try this, after everything's plugged in hold the power button for about 5 seconds. This will set all video/audio settings to default and should bring up the picture on your monitor. From there go in and manually add 480p, 720p, etc and save those settings.HDMI male (that plugs in the back of the PS3) to DVI female (that plugs into the back of your monitor the same way a regular DVI cable does).
