The audio will no problem but the PS2 doesn't have HDMI so the video will still need to go through the RCA cable.

Well i got my ps3 today and unfortunatly its displaying wrong
since my monitor is 1200 height and the ps3 output is only 1080 but its going and filling the whole screen rather than giving two blakc bars, which results in bars all along the screen going to start searching for the solution but if anyone knows i would appreciate it

Question - can you get 5.1 surround audio setup somehow like this. I have my Logitech speakers and I want to do something similar with my TV (which will be hooked up to my PS3). I want the 5.1 to work with both the computer and TV.

There is an optical output on the back of the PS3. So if you happen to have a receiver that can utilize it then just hook up the 5.1 speakers to the receiver and you're all set. Make sure you go into the audio settings and change it to "optical."
