You can prolly get one of these (in conjuction with the 3.5mm f/f coupler):
http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-Stereo-Female-Adapter/dp/B000J1H4VI/ref=pd_ys_ir_all_2?pf_rd_p=258372101&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_t=1501&pf_rd_i=list&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=02VHVNS2RH7NMQHYDXVN I ordered one of these, you plug the 3.5mm speaker wire from your speakers into this adapter and plug it in to the optical audio port. Hopefully it works. lol. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000I97H68 Last edited by jdmed14 : 08-07-08 at 06:59 AM |

Question: If my monitor has the DVI connection (being used by my monitor) as well as input through COMPONENT, can I just buy the PS3 COMPONENT cable and plug it into the monitor? Component (Not the standard yellow video, etc) but the Pbr, etc is still HD, is it not? Should it work? Thanks..

I've tried to follow as best i can, there was a small variation however.
First of all, sound is fine, i can hear my ps3, i just can't see it on my Dell monitor which is relatively new, bought 3 months ago, and i have checked that it is with HDCP. Here is my little variation. PS3 ---> HDMI to HDMI Cable ---> HDMI Switch ---> HDMI to DVI Cable ---> Monitor I even tried it without the switch, so basically.. PS3 ---> HDMI to DVI Cable ---> Monitor Yet my monitor was not able to detect my PS3, i tried it with another Dell monitor and tried switching the HMDI to DVI cable but none made a difference. Please help and advice. Thank you in advance!!! =] |

Have you tried to hold on to your power button to get a second beep, so that the ps3 would refresh its display settings? I have just done this today.. I did it with a DVI to HDMI adapter that came with my video card and for sound I used an optical cable that goes into my computers sound card. Works very well if you get the right settings in.

I just hooked up my x-230's with a cable that came with it, that changes the PC connecter to the REd/White cables which i connected to my TV using my PS3's extra YWR cables (component?) and the picture is through HDMI.
