lol I totally missed this thread.
just get a front panel to the Creative X-Fi cards, or get a RCA to 3.5mm and then a Y-module to the 3.5 and it's done.

wait, so let me get this straight,
__________________ur able to plug the ps3 in and use computer monitor and speakers? does ur computer have to be on to use the ps3? cuz isn't the speakers connected to the computer's sound card? im kinda confused, so basically the RCA cable (red/yellow/white) is not needed, oh and HDMI covers the video and audio right? i need to do this ps3 -> HDMI-DVI cable -> DVI switch -> monitor? since computer uses VGA cables from video card cant the ps3 just use the HDMI-DVI cable and connect to my monitor since my monitor has a VGA plug and DVI plug? the DVI switch could have my ps3 and computer hooked in 2 lines? how does the audio come in play for the ps3? im kinda lost, really.

i think i might have a unique problem, and im not sure whats causing it. I have a very similar setup to what the OP has, with an hdmi-->dvi to a computer monitor, however, instead of computer speakers, i have a second, regular television hooked in, using rca cables that i use for the audio. As far as i know, using the tv shouldnt be any different than using a pair of speakers, but whenever i turn on my ps3, i get the video, but no audio, and i have to manually tell it to go from hdmi, to composite, to get the ps3 to recognize the tv, and then back to hdmi, and everything runs fine. However, because of the way its defaulting and not recognizing my tv, i cant play ps2/ps1 games, because it resets the a/v, and turns off the connection to the tv, and i have to play without sound. Ive tried the 5 sec button, but it doesnt change anything. Is there something im missing?

Or just buy a PC monitor with a DVI and HDMI and HDCP and just use a converter block
