I noticed this tonight. If I'm connected to a media server and pop in a Blu-Ray and watch it for a while, it's disconnected when I get back to the dashboard. A few seconds later, it connects up and all is well.

Well you cant stream a bluray to another device anyway, other than a PSP.
I dont think this is DRM so much as it is the PS3 just being resource conservative. If youre watching a blu ray, there's no need to be connected to a media server.

if you watch a movie in general and then quit the movie you tend to have to re-connect to the internet (or atleast re-sign in to PSN). I guess it only leaves the connection open when you're playing games or watching a movie from the HDD. So yeah the media server would consequently disconnect.

I'm going to try this when I get home for you, it makes sense though. I can also try a un-copy protected blu-ray and see if that causes the same problem as well. This is on a PC that your playing it with, right? PS3?

It makes sense, when your watching a blu-ray you don't need an internet connection.
I looked on mine, when the ps3 is at the home screen or playing a ps3 game, its still connected to my router's wireless, yet as soon as I launch a PS1/PS2/Bluray movie (i.e anything that doesn't use the internet) it disconnects from the wireless
