Default Anyones PS3 locking up playing GTA 4?

Hey

found this article

http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/52445

and was wondering if anyone one on OCN is suffering from these lock ups to see how common it is.

Ive ordered GTA 4 and ive got a 60gb model so a little nervous that my fun will be halted

I had one lock-up, and it was fixed by holding down the PS button then returning to game.

I have the 60gb model.

Seems to be quite the problem, did some late night research and people are guessing its a cooling problem

It is presumed that the 60 runs hotter then the 40 which runs hotter then the 80 thus the 60 has the most problems then the 40 and then 80.

Some advice is that it could be dust in the PS3 so might just have to get a vacuum on it

I've played for about 2 or 3 hours on my 40gb and I haven't had a single lockup yet.

no lock ups atall for me. running great. ive had a 1 second freeze-up when it was loading something while i was flying down the road at 100mph. Thats about it. considering the amount of things being processed in this game at once theyve done a pretty good job of optimising the engine. Obviously on PC it would look alot better what with AA and AF applied at a higher resolution but for a console it really does run/look pretty good IMO.

ok i may have jinxed myself. i spent an HOUR just then trying to load my savedgame. It just never finished loading. i crapped myself because I've already easily spent 20+ hours on my SP game. Anyway I had to uninstall the game, re-copy my save game and load it. Took me a long time to do but it finally worked. I thought all my hard work had gone to waste.. anyway.. I'd advise anyone to back up their save games before they go corrupt, just to be safe..
