PS3 error please help - Overclock.net

So i woke up to a late start school day today and as i left my mum told me that the ps3 wasnt working.

i said a big ole "WTH" and looked at it, apparently neither my HDMI or my composite cables neither work to show sound or video on my T.V screen. of course i just woke up and it just hit me that of course my composite wouldnt work due to it synching to the hd tv with the HDMI cord. And im pretty sure that the lights were normal although i have to check since i just woke up when i was looking at it so it might be yellow.....green/yellow look alike to me lol. but yet the blue light was there so i thought it was fine.

and my mum was playing it last night so it should be just fine.

i was thinking of doing just a hard boot when i get home? (i believe thats what its called.) I did it when i put linux on it but never ended up finishing it. Hopefully that does it....i'd prefere not to send it in. : (

well i would wait and see for yourself if there is actually a problem, then let us know.

maybe the video got reset?

i did the hard boot with the comp cords and hdmi cord and the light is green....so im wanting to say that it was the HDMI cables being a dollar but then atleast the composite should work yet they dont.... and theres no yellow light just the standard green and blue...

if you hold down the on button i think it resets the display configuration. so it will set it back to default and then you can set it to your HDMI output.

Try doing the hard boot thing with the standard RGB cables after having unplugged your console completely for five minutes. Make sure your tv is on the right input as well

Or try another TV just in case.

I swear, girls break everything high-tech as soon as they touch it :P

Fo sho! Are you sure that you have the TV set up on the correct channel/input and it is configured correctly?

yea i have it on the right chanel.

and im trying the unplug thing right now. i pray it works

ok so i un plugged it and what not and it still didnt work : (. i also brought it downstairs to my normal TV and still nothing : ( flippin thing is tickin me off

Hmmm... Do you have sound coming out when you boot? If you press Home then X, do your hear the CD starting? (assuming you got a disc inside)
