I have a spot for one or both of them, right next to my PC. I have an HDMI input on my monitor, so it's ready (not 1080p though).

I think i might wait longer for PS3s to go down in price.

If you like Gears of War 2, Ninja Gaiden 2, Mass Effect, etc get Xbox 360
If you like MGS4, Gran Turismo 5, Resistance 2, etc get PS3

I already have a xbox 360 but if I didn't have either, I would get the ps3 right now just because I am such a metal gear fanboy.

Like Crackclocker sad its all based on what games you like and you might wan to look at PS3 if you want blue-ray and also 360 is cheaper si it balances.

It really depends on what you want to do. Xbox 360 has more games out right now, and is a little bit cheaper, but less overall system capability. Playstation 3 can do other things like run Linux and play Blu-Ray discs, and the online aspect is totally free, but there are less games on the market, and it costs a little bit more. I'd recommend the PS3, if you can find a good enough deal on one. I found a brand new 40GB for $350 on Craigslist, so I went for it.

But also, the 360 lacks a lot of features that for some (like me) are very important. Like the PS3 has built in WiFi/Bluetooth, a user upgradable hard drive (up to 320GB right now), Blu-Ray, *cough stable hardware cough*, and free online gaming. Those are a few reasons why I choose it over a 360, and so far I'm very happy

I'd go for the 360 because more of your friends will have XBL so you have more people to play with. Plus it's got 360-only titles like Halo 3 and none of the ports suck like the PS3's.

I'd only recommend the PS3 if you were hooking it up to a home theater setup on a nice 1080p 40" LCD and wanted to use its BluRay. Otherwise the 360 is the way to go.

I would say get a PS3 overall the PS3 looks way better than the xbox360... IMO the 360 looks like a DELL..

Last fall when I was in the market I went for a 360 and I think that was the right choice. Right now, however, I believe that that the PS3 is a better choice. It has better exclusive titles coming out than the 360
