Default PSP Homebrew Question

I just want to get this straight. I am looking to buy a psp and I am pretty sure I want homebrew on it. So I will need a psp that has firmware 3.5 or below, correct? Then form there I downgrade to 1.5, then install 3.90 M33, or whatever is the latest?

Just a general question about homebrew. Let's say I install 3.90 M33. Will I still be able to use all of the "official" apps like the sony web browser, media players (music/movies), umd's (games/movies), etc. and be able to use all the homebrew apps?

Also, what is the largest memory stick that will work with homebrew? I know there are 16gb sticks out there, but are they supported?

Oh, and I want to use the psp as an mp3 player and for games.

3.90 M33 will support homebrew and everything the official firmware supports. As for memory stick size, just worry about the cost because 8 Gigs costs around 80 dollars.

Well, a couple 16 gig sticks just sold for $60 on eBay. Looked like they were legit too. I will have to take a look around.

You could actually get a psp with any firmware, but is has to be a fat one, and use a pandora's battery and magic memory stick to downgrade it. You can buy or make the pandora's battery, but to make it you need to know someone with a hacked psp.

Well if you want to downgrade it EASILY, get one with firmware 2.81 or below, all that requires is an unpatched version of GTA liberty city, or pandora battery, or 2.8 and below requires just some time and a decent size mem card. I can sell you mine with lots of games, phat psp, and a 2gb mem stick with the 32mb stick pm me if ur interested

And btw, 3.90 M33 is basically the official 3.90 firmware, but hacked to do other things, so yes u can do everything you would want to do with the official firmware, AND more because its a CFW (custom firmware)

No it doesn't need to be a fat one
Pandora's work on slim and fat psp's but you can't turn slim battery's into pandoras, you'll need to borrow/buy one, but since you need custom firmware to turn the battery into a pandora anyway it doesn't matter which PSP you get

I don't really want to do the whole pandora thing? Is there a way to do is solely with software?
