Hey i know the ps3 supports 1080p resolution, but does it work with 720P or will the tv have to convert the 1080p resolution to 720p.

i can't find out if the tv will even accept in input resolution of 1080p.

now that's been answered. what should i do?

a) get a PS3 (which i just want for HD purposes) for around $300
b) get a 3870 for around $120
c) get a 8800 GT for around $140
d) save $$$

lol the only console game i really play is SSB but see if i had a PS3 it would encourage me to play some PS3 games.

on PC i only play CS and geometry wars. may be get in to more games like asassin's creed and crysis or something.

then save it! i love my ps3 but i wouldn't recommend it if you only want it for HD purposes

out of your options just get a ps3. nothing goes better with a HDTV. you'll be able to play blu-rays aswell as HD games. everyones a winner! my ps3 and hdtv were the best things ive bought in 5 years. i even stream my hd movies from my pc and watch them on my ps3 wirelessly through the media server. its not much to spend if you already have the tv..
