lol yeah i figured that, hence my move to play the first 3. reading about it just isnt enough imo.

Between the PC and PS1 version, I'd go for the PS1 version. The only one that you don't absolutely need to play to understand is 3, since it takes place before the events of MGS1, but 4 does make some references back to it.

Also, take a look on the Playstation Store. They have a free download called "Metal Gear Solid 4 Database". It's kind of like a wiki of MGS events, characters, locations, and items. Lots of good information in there.

hate to sound annoying, but any particular reason why you recommend PS1 version of MGS over the PC version?

You, my good sir need a gamecube, and a copy of MGS: The twin snakes.

It's a total remake of the original for PS, and it's amazing. I love it so much, I can beat it in less than 2 hours!

But yeah, get on that. And if you do get it, come to me if you have any in game troubles!

EDIT: Make that 12 hours...not 2

heh.

No actually, make it 8

lol.

well i do have a gamecube actually, in the form of a Wii.

but as i said earlier, i heard from a few sources that Twin Snakes on GC is nothing compared to MGS 1 on PS1. apparently the story telling was really bad, it lacked 'emotion' as one person put.

i dont want that. im one of those real anal people when it comes to storytelling/plot sequences in a game. i love my stories

Aww, No way man.

That and MGS2 are the most cinematic games I have EVER played, and the control scheme feels natural, it's just hard to get used to not being able to shoot and move at the same time. It's the same game engine as MGS2, and the cut scenes are done in a very similar, if not the same way. Personally, I don't think you'll regret getting MGS: The twin snakes.

lol...i may have to dig up a copy then.

the whole not moving and shooting thing, is that a GC thing or MGS thing? do you rekon i could say thing any more?

i just checked ebay, and they want $100 AUD plus postage for a copy..i'd much rather spend $50 and get the PS1 version, or spend nothing and get the PC version.

MGS:Twin Snakes on the GC is EXACTLY the same as the PSX version. There are no differences in the cutscenes or story telling at all. Script was preserved.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....MEWA:IT&ih=016

maybe i will try dig up a copy of Twin Snakes. or just obtain a PC copy of MGS...elsewhere.

thats ridiculous ay, for a PS1 game!! the games bloody 10 years old or whatever, cost more than the special limited edition of MGS4.
