Default swap hdd in ps3

i have a 20gb ps3, i want to upgrade the hdd to a larger one. i know its a simple swap out so i'm not worried about that part. but i don't want to lose all my saved games and stuff like that. i know there is a backup feature, but does that back up all the saved games as well, or just settings or what?

also i was trying to copy some saved game files to usb and it wouldn't let me copy the one for vegas 2. so is there a way around this or am i just going to lose my saved game?

I just upgraded my 60GB SKU to a 320GB HDD.

If you use the back up function on the PS3, all your game saves and downloaded games will be backed up. It basically makes an image of your existing HDD and copies it all back when you restore it. Its a nice function...I was happy when I didn't have to re-download Gran Turismo or anything else.

Just be careful when you undo the screws....I severely stripped two of them and needed to undo them with my trusty leatherman.

I used this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822152111

And a Western Digital 320GB (Scorpio I think) drive in my other PS3. Yep, same one Raven used.

i upgraded mine to a 160gb drive. the backup and restore worked great. and those screws suck for sure. i had to use some small pliers to take them out because they stripped so easily.
