Default PS2 through an LCD Monitor

this is a little harder than i thought.

im trying to run my PS2 in my bedroom, which only has my sig'd ASUS MW221U LCD monitor.

i found THIS on ebay, is this the correct adapter i need?

also im pretty sure my monitor's refresh rate range is 56-75hz .. is that ok for PS2?

Why does that thing have inputs for sound as well?

Edit: I think it might work. I'm not 100% positive on it though - your monitor may not like the NTSC scanlines. In other words, it will only work if your monitor supports it - but then they'd sell it as a TV.

actualy i dont think that will work.
It is made for certian video cards that suport it.
You would need a more expensive scan converter to do what you want

I wouldn't think the refresh rate would be an issue. The PS2 is made to work with TVs, which take 30fps or 60fps by default and 24fps if you have a film source hooked up, all of which a monitor can obviously handle. The refresh rate and framerate aren't dependent upon each other so it doesn't matter what framerate is given to the TV in terms of the TV being able to accept said framerate.
