*looks around* is it possible to flash the psp3001 yet? I've been reading through a bunch of the pages and i'm wanting to mod my psp but if the 3001 can't be modded like this i don't know what to do. on the first post its a bit confuzing as it says they aren't un-flashable but then it says something about someone working on a way to fix it.

matter of fact this "NONE of the new PSP-3000's are currently un-flashable. I have read that Dark aleX is currently working on a fix for this." is one of the biggest things that has me confused (pulled from the first post)

Hey the only way currently that I know of to Custom Firmware a PSP 3000 is by using the chickHEN hack. I'll post a tutorial from youtube on how to do it and usually in the description where to get the files etc. Not all PSP 3000s will work it depends on what motherboard it has I believe any TA88v3 or above motherboard will not work it will just brick.

Hope this helps you. I'm sure other members have probably tried it. I have not personally since I don't own a PSP 3000.

Just a quick note:

You CAN NOT overclock the PSP. You can change the clock speed (to a max of 333Mhz if I remember correctly), but it's just putting to clock to it's min or max.

You can see what motherboard you have by looking at the writing on it. Open the UMD drive and look inside, you should see writing on the PCB.

You can either do what boebi said or in the tutorial I posted run the program PSPident and it tells you what motherboard you have.
