360

Also, IMO, the 360 has better graphics [esp textures] on average, plus it is cheaper.

All in all, that's the trifecta right there.

EDIT: I own both and for the graphics statment I made I am going off off that as well as the screenshot comparisons I have seen. You can flame me if you want, it's not like I'll be back to this thread to see it anyway.

I'd go PS3 down the line because of M.A.G.

But currently MGSO, Resistance 2, & Killzone 2 all offer great online FPS for the PS3.

The Xbox for online Shooters only really has Gears of War as its trade mark. Unless you want to play Halo 3. Which is not worth it for the shooting. Mostly for the different modes.

Reasons for 360:
Halo 3 (and older ones if they interest you)
Gears 2

360 shooters coming soon:
H3: Recon (or ODST whatever they're calling it now)

Reasons for PS3:
Killzone 2
MSGO

PS3 shooters coming soon:
MAG

Shooters on both:
COD4/5/6
Far Cry 2 if you like that

Generally, games will look better on 360 because the PS3 is very different for programmers and the 360 has more powerful graphics hardware.

id say xbox360, i have both, but it seems like when playing COD the ps3 version looks like there is no AA enabled..i dont know if that is just that game or if its on all titles, but you can notice the jaggies when playing on certain maps..

second reason, is if you play online, like i do, which is very important for fps, xbox live beats ps3 hands down on getting squads and clans set up and playing. get the 360, its cheaper and by next summer you are going to start hearing about microsofts next system so you prob. would be mad you spent the xtra cash on the ps3.

one note, i use my ps3 mostly just for the blueray player..that is a plus in my opinion. can't remember the last time i played a game on it...until god of war comes out, it will probably stay that way..

I would go with the PS3. I don't know of any good upcoming FPS exclusives for the 360, but the PS3 has MAG coming up soon in addition to the already-released games such as Killzone 2 (AWESOME), Metal Gear Solid, and Resistance 2.

I was never a fan of the Halo series, and IMO, that game is old. I also never enjoyed GoW.

As for graphics, the two are almost identical. The only different is that one tends to be lighter than the other (iirc, the PS3 was darker), and you'll only notice if you set the systems side by side.

The only problem I've ever seen graphics-wise is that loser publishers like Ubisoft were too lazy to make a decent code on the PS3, so they just ported the game, and it looked crappy (Rainbow Six Vegas). Although I don't see that anymore in recent games. Maybe they finally got their act together.

You don't notice the jaggies in playstation games? im running my ps3 with hdmi in 1080p and my xbox is only running in 1080i with component, and i notice it ALOT. Could be like you said, just programming, but im wondering if it has to do with ps3's lower video memory..and not having enough to enable AA. I dont know i guess each system has its pluses and minuses, but since he was speaking of just FPS, id say definately go with the xbox....I mean cod waw was designed Supposedly from the ground up for the ps3 and you can see that the graphics aren't as clear and definately has no AA turned on. I mean ps3 has been out for awhile now, there is no reason programmers can't write for it now. Sorry if i seem pissed, but my version of Cod waw on my ps3 definately doesn't look as good as the xbox version.

Basically what im saying is , the PC is the best..lol..i pretty much just wasted my money on the 3 systems...and i will probably waste more on the next new system that comes out, even though, my two video cards i have now, are probably more powerful then whatever sony and microsoft comes out with next..lol..

I'd say PS3 for Killzone 2 and Metal Gear and Resistance... The really good shooters like COD 4/5 are probably best on PC anyway, plus PC exclusives and free online. Judging solely on your sig rig though, you probably don't game much... I have seen some games on both systems, and I don't really see a difference. I notice jaggies on my PS3, but only because there are none on my PC.

I'm rambling, get a PS3 for Killzone and Resistance and Metal Gear. I'm going to go look up this MAG you are all talking about.

Honestly, way back in the Xbox days, I thought the controller S had the best controls for FPSes on a console. I haven't played any FPSes on the 360, so I don't know if that's changed. Based on my past experience, I'd go with the 360 (tentatively) for the controller--it's more responsive, and has more 'snapback' to it, if that makes any sense.

Well im thinking about selling my PS3 just because I cant find any more good FPS for it. The ones it does have are better on the PC. TBH im starting to think both the PS3 and 360 are a waste of time!!
