Console Games have there FPS locked. Uusally they can be locked from anyway from 30-50. But not much more.

Locked yes, that doesn't mean they're stable.

Anyway, you can't run some application while you're playing a game on your PS3 /thread.

no you can't, but most games are 60 or 30fps

you can tell the difference by experience, try gta vice city on pc, enable frame limiter and play, then disable limiter and play, 30fps vs 60fps is a lot of difference but there are people who can't tell the difference

why does it matter? u dont have to worry about it not running on big tv's because tv's run at really low resolutions so they wont lag on very big screens

Your post is in no way helpful to the OP.

You cannot download and run background applications like a FPS monitor on the PS3 console. All PS3 games run between 30-60FPS, depending on the game. That number can vary, but all console games have their FPS locked to be always running optimally.

Some games do have a FPS limiter option in the Options of the game. You can try playing around with the option if it is present to see if there is a difference in performance.

u use a special camera it looks like a radar gun and u point it at the screen and it tells u the fps
