it all really depends on what you want to do with it. For me I just use mine to play games. I dont really download anything except extra levels for my games. If you download movies in HD or music. I try to keep it free for optimal performance.

I have had a WD Scropio 320gb Blue in my PS3 now for about a year and i still got like 220gb left on it, I still do not think i will even use all of it, but I got it there just in case.

So, to answer the OP, you never can tell when you will ever use the whole amount of your HD's space, unless your like some werido that just sits there downloading everything he/she sees.

I got the original 60gb model, and I filled up the space in about a year with just demos. I end up having to delete them when I run out of space. Not a huge deal, but sometimes I do wish I hadn't deleted the burnout paradise demo so I can go back and smash cars into walls really fast.

You can change the PS3 HDD yourself?

That kinda makes my question pointless then...

Thanks everyone.

Yeah there is instructions on the official playstation website along with other places as well.

I forgot I have a 320GB external hard drive on top of my 80 gig inside. It's great to have 4 USB ports instead of 2.
