Default PS2 hooked up to an LCD monitor. (Resolved)

[Edit]:

Nevermind guys I solved the problem. Just a few tweaks here and there in the setup of the vga box heh :P.

Hey guys, so I have a PS2 hooked up to an LCD monitor that has HDMI. Currently I'm using component (PS3 component) hooked up to a KWorld VGA Box and using RGB hooked up to my monitor.

Everything else is okay except that the screen is black and white. What could be the cause of this? Should I be using DVI cable instead of the normal monitor cable that it comes with? (It does say DVI-D on the back of the monitor)

My monitor has HDMI, D-Sub, and DVI-D. To clarify I currently have the typical monitor cable (RGB I believe) in the D-Sub connected to the VGA Box, and then from the Vga box I have component connected to the PS2.

I still can't figure out why its producing black and white images.
