So I am thinking about getting a bluetooth head set for my PS3. Does it have to be the certified PS3 sony brand or can I choose whatever I want?

nope choose what you want, i went to walmart and bought a motorolla one, works great.
and if it doesnt sync just take it back and try a diff one.
