Default PS3 component cable to VGA = 720p?

As the title says. My HD TV has just fell off my wall and broken /wrist.
(up to a month for a replacement)

In the mean time I was thinking of connecting my PS3 to my PC monitor
Which is a Hpw19ev Here It has NO DVI slot, only an analogue Blue VGA.

My questions are as follows; Is there a component to VGA(blue D-sub) cable?
And If so can it out put 720p? Or do I have to pay out the ass for a HDfury?
And If i do will it work with D-sub?

If there isn't a cable to buy, is there a make shift DIY cable?
I have an Xbox to D-sub cable that could output 720p on my monitor.
Not sure If It's of any relevance just thought I'd mention it just in case.

Reps for the winner.

They are not directly compatible, you will need some sort of converter, as opposed to just a cable like DVI > HDMI.

Those should run you around $50 USD, not sure what that will translate to in pounds. Maybe you could get something used.

Chances are it won't be quite worth it since you're getting the TV back eventually. Also note that bluray playback is limited to 720p over component.

Thanks for answering Crazy, appreciate it.
I decided to just get a 22" 1080p monitor with HDMI to use
in the mean time. Then when my TV gets fixed/replaced
I can use the monitor for Eyefinity, since I already have two
the same on my work rig.
