Default Wanting to hook PS3 to computer & monitor

Hello people

Just recently I got a PS# Slim 'n i was wondering if I could get a HDMI to DVI adaptor and use it to play on my computer monitor. I know there will be no sound, so I was thinking of getting a optical audio cable and putting it into my computer from the PS3. Then use the computer speakers to play sound.
My question is- is that possible? if not- Is there any way I can do like this setup?

Thank Yous

Yes. It's possible. Allthough would advise a fully HDMI cable for best quality.

dvi and hdmi transfer the EXACT same video signals. HDMI just can also transfer audio.

It doesn't matter any more. I thought HDMI was better than DVI. Apparently they're about the same exept for the sound that DOES go through a HDMI but not through DVI.

Make sure your monitor is HDCP compliant or the PS3 will not give it a video signal.
