Default Now I have problems with my slim :(

My release day 60GB got the YLOD. So, I bought a slim 2 months ago. Now my slim is acting up!

My orange light which indicates HDD reading/writing is always on. I don't know if this is normal (could someone check their slim? It's right beside the USB ports) or if my HDD is corrupted. I'm also getting loud noises (and I mean loud as in jet engines) when discs are being inserted.

So, I can deal with the noises. I just simply turn my volume up loud Do you guys think the HDD is corrupt? Should I just replace my HDD and try it or just send it in to Sony?

I love my PS3s But they all die or suffer when with me lol

Try restoring your default settings/Flash1 if you can. So your PSP can still read discs, yeah?

It's a PS3... I went through the resetting of the HDD blah blah with Sony. It really helped for like 2 minutes then it started again lol

Woot! It was the HDD that was causing the problems. I put in a Seagate Momentus that I had laying around and the system boots immediately and only has very short flashes where the HDD indicator light is lit up fully. I hope it holds up.... Now what to do with that box Sony is sending me for my PS3? lol
