I was planning to get the PS3 slim when it gets out but now I'm having doubts since I realized that I can't actually play it all the time. I can only play it during breaks which is roughly 1 month per year since its the only time I can get home from the univ dorm which prohibits the use of consoles. So is it still worth on getting the PS3 even tho I can only use it for roughly a total of 2 months and some # of days within the next 3 years or just concentrate on PC gaming and upgrades?

btw, what kind of college does not allow consoles? and who checks?

Actually, its best to listen since the dorm directory of my building is so freakishly strict, he caught people using consoles and got them confiscated until the end of the semester. Similarly TV isnt even allowed in the dorm. Only computer and handheld consoles are allowed.

mod it. make a case that fits both your computer and your console. ;-)

hide ps3 in/around pc and have it hooked up to your monitor via hdmi

now all you have to do is find somewhere to hide your controller!

Am actually not living in the US so you might not know where and what kind of univ it is.

On topic: that would be hard to do regarding my busy schedule and also the heat generated by the PS3 inside a PC case would be amplified. Also it's kinda stupid to get the PS3 since I can't use PS Network in the dorm since its blocked.

Yeah, sounds like a complete waste of money. Your tuition money I mean. If it was Wharton, and they told me I had a free ride so long as I agreed to live on campus and abide by their draconian rules regarding what I do in my personal time, I'd poo in my hand and throw it at them like a monkey. PS3 is worth it just for Uncharted 1 and 2.
